Q. What Covid-19 safety, sterilization, and sanitary methods do you have in place to ensure the safety of others and yourself?
A. Covid-19 liability and information form must be filled out, signed, and submitted before appointment. I get tested every 2 weeks. Masks are required! Client temperature will be taken, as well as mine everyday. Only one client at a time, no guests are allowed. I take only 1 lash extension client a day. I have all my tools sterilized 3x before each client, with, alcohol, barbicide, and heat. The client table has disposable covers changed after each service. I sterilize my hands and tools every 15 minutes during every service. I provide motion sensor hand sanitizer and masks for all clients. Unfortunately my restroom is not avaliable to clients due to Covid-19 and trying to do my part in stopping the spread of the virus, by not providing a communal bathroom. Thank you for your cooperation as I navigate through this by the state mandates in order to still provide amazing service to my loyal clients with your health and safety as my first priority.
Q. Can lash extensions ruin my natural lashes?
A. If lash extensions are not performed by a certified, experienced, responsible lash tech, then yes! The first thing a lash tech should do is make sure their clients lashes are thoroughly clean with no makeup, or oil residue of any kind. If this simple process is not done before attaching lashes then there will be a problem with retention! Secondly, placement of the lash extension is crucial, it should be 0.05mm to 1mm away from your skin. If attached to close this can cause an allergic reaction and damage to your hair follicle permanently. Isolation is extremely important so you do not attach lashes together because they are all on different growth paths. This can cause unseen skin damage that could also be permanent. Lastly, the lash tech must take their time to assess each client's lashes to ensure they are using the correct thickness and length for their natural lashes. Using the wrong length and thickness can cause permanent damage to your natural lashes and their growth pattern.
Q. How long will Lash extensions last?
A. Typically, lash extensions stay looking good for 2-3 weeks, but beyond that, all of them will gradually fall out on their own. NEVER pull or rub the lashes off!! I recommend that you clean your lashes daily with an oil free lash shampoo and get refills every 2 to 3 weeks. Also taking a break every few months for a few weeks to give your lashes a vacay from extensions is also very important to implement into your routine. Ask me about my custom vegan falsies to wear during your self care downtime. They are made to order, giving you up to 30 wears for each pair, with proper care of course.
Q. Why do lash techs have to tape my bottom lashes down? I feel like my eyes are taped shut.
A. Okay so here's the part that gives people a lot of anxiety. I know first hand, I got lash extensions faithfully for 5 years straight. Using foam tape or a gel eye pad, taping of lashes and the use of tape is extremely crucial and necessary. Here's why, the bottom lashes must be taped down so the adhesive can't get near them. The under eye pad also helps protect you from our tools when doing the precise isolation. Your eyes are never actually taped shut, I know it feels that way but they aren't. There are strips of tape that I use to go across your eyelid to pull the skin ever so slightly to get the inner and outer corner lashes and also the lashes on the base of your lid. Please note it is not advised for you to open your eyes without telling your lash tech so they can make sure there is no adhesive residue or strong fumes near, that will make your eyes water. Also PLEASE do not be afraid to let me know if the tape or pad on your bottom lashes moves or starts to irritate your eye. I am focused on isolation and placement and may not know if that is bothering you until I see your eyes water. Make sure you feel comfortable expressing discomfort to me if any, I thrive on your comfort and satisfaction during any of my services.
Q. How long do lash extensions take?
A. Lash extensions can take a pretty long time with lots of variables involved. I am literally placing a single or multiple fake lashes onto each one of your natural lashes one by one. There is no short cut or fast way to get that done. Then you factor in the mapping and the art part of it. This takes time and skill and you must be precise. Honestly, in my opinion you don't want a full set to be quick. It should take at least two and a half hours. Volume and mega volume will take even longer. My fans for volume are not pre-mad, I custom make them at time of application by hand, according to each clients natural lashes and style chosen.
Q. What if I have an allergic reaction to the adhesive?
A. If this happens I would want you to call or text me right away. The lashes would need to be removed immediately. If you are able to take benedryl that would help relieve some of the reactions. Unfortunately moving forward I would not recommend lash extensions because you will have that same reaction to the adhesive. I would recommend the Lash Lift. It is an amazing, low maintenance alternative to lash extensions.
Q. What is a Lash Lift?
A. The lash lift is a painless procedure that takes about 1 hour. There is a perm solution for the curl and for the lift that has the main ingredient ammonium thioglycolate, it breaks down the protein bond in each hair and then permanently alters it until they grow out. Results can last 2 months, I do recommend to keep up the shape that you touch it up every 6 weeks, depending on how fast your natural lashes grow.
Q. Will my naturallashes fall out from the lash lift or getting lash extensions?
A. No, if you have an experienced and educated lash Artist like myself than eyelash loss should be more natural. Everybody naturally loses 1 to 5 eyelashes a day. And our eyelash growth cycle although varies in everyone, one thing is that everyone within 3 months will lose lashes and grow new ones without even really noticing. Another thing to keep in mind is that, during a women's menstrual cycle we naturally shed more hair all over. Don't ever be alarmed if you see a lash extension fall out and there is a natural lash attached. Only be alarmed if you rip or rub it off. That can cause permanent damage to your hair follicle.
Q. What important information should I know before coming in to my appointment?
A. Proper client etiquette is very important and appreciated. For example if you're receiving and eyelash service, then no contacts, no make up, no lotions or oils on the eye area! This is really important for the quality, longevity, and retention. This also will ensure smooth, on-time appointments throughout the day. If I have to do a lash bath I will charge an extra $10.00 and it adds 15 minutes to your appointment.
That means you can get your first first lash lift for $50.00 with no maintenance and results lasting 8-12 weeks. Or a volume set for only $105. BOOK NOW!
